Product FAQs


Why can I find an item in one store and not another?

Not all items listed in the product catalog are available at all stores. Although Virginia ABC stores provide a broad selection of products, there is some variation in inventory depending on local demand, customer buying patterns and the size of the store. If you don't see an item you're looking for at your store, you can ask a sales associate about options for getting the item for you, or use Virginia ABC's website to search for another store that carries the product.

If I don’t see a specific product, can I still order the product?

If a product is not listed in our product catalog, not available for ordering online or is not stocked in stores, please see your local store about placing a special order. Virginia ABC can usually obtain a product as long as it is carried by a U.S. distributor. For some products, you may be required to purchase a full case.

What are limited availability products?

For some products, the amount of product offered from our suppliers is very limited compared with the anticipated demand for the product. Virginia ABC has chosen to distribute these high-demand, low-inventory products through online ordering and lotteries. Read more about limited availability products.

To ask a question, email us at abc-pst@abc.virginia.gov. We return most emails within 24 hours. You can also call the Virginia ABC Customer Service Team at (844) 694-9965. A representative is available Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. You can submit an evaluation of your shopping experience using our online feedback form.


How do I find information about special offers and promotions?

Virginia ABC regularly publishes information about new items, special promotions, in-store giveaways, contests and rebates on our Promotions page.

Does Virginia ABC offer discounts?

Products Virginia ABC carries periodically go on sale. Our product catalog provides the current pricing for each item. Please note that prices are subject to change without notice. View more pricing information.

Placing and Tracking Online Orders

Can I place an order online?

Yes. A selection of more than 200 premium and select spirits can be purchased online from the product catalog. Your order is delivered to the Virginia ABC store of your choice, and you will be notified by email when it is ready for pickup.

How do I know if you received my order?

Once you place an order, you will receive a confirmation email from Virginia ABC with a complete order summary and tracking instructions. Please keep this email and order number for reference.

How do I track my order?

You will receive a confirmation email after placing an order. This email will provide an order tracking number and a link to the Order Tracking page.

Is it possible to cancel my order?

Yes. You may cancel your order online via the Order Tracking page.  You will receive a link to this page by email once your order is placed. You may also call (844) 694-9965 during business hours to cancel an order. Orders must be canceled in full.

How long does it take to get my refund?

Refunds are processed within two business days of receiving your cancellation request. Once we process your refund, it may take up to seven additional business days for your refund to be reflected in your credit card account.

Is it possible to change an existing order?

No. Once an order is placed, it cannot be changed; however, you can cancel the order and place a new order.


What types of credit cards do you accept?

Discover, MasterCard and Visa.

Can I use a Virginia ABC gift card online?

No. At this time, Virginia ABC gift cards can only be redeemed in person in ABC stores. Learn more about Virginia ABC gift cards.

How do I know that my transaction is secure?

Can I return products and get a refund?

Virginia ABC purchases may be returned at any Virginia ABC store. No refunds will be issued for nonstocked special order items or closeout items. Cash refunds in excess of $500 may be issued by check from the Richmond office. Refunds are subject to a 15 percent restocking fee for returns in excess of $100.00. View our full return policy.

Picking up Online Orders

Why does it take 7 to 14 days to receive my order?

Orders are processed through our warehouse in Richmond, and then shipped to the store. This is an approximate range of when you can expect your order to be available for pick up. Products are not shipped from this website or Virginia ABC stores. All orders made online are shipped to an ABC store for pickup by the customer.

ABC store tasting event

Tasting Events

View schedule. Approximately 500 tasting events are held each month at select store locations. As required by law, a person must be 21 years of age to participate in a tasting or to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Virginia ABC periodically offers price reductions for discontinued items. Please check with your local store regarding current closeout items, as availability varies from store to store. These items are not included in the online catalog and are not offered for ordering online.

Virginia ABC reserves the right to refuse an in-person sale or cancel an order for a product listed at an incorrect price on Virginia ABC’s website resulting from a typographical error or technical malfunction.
