The full name of the agency is the “Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.” 
When shortening the name, please use “Virginia ABC” or “ABC.”
Virginia ABC is an executive branch agency of the Commonwealth. In reference to Virginia ABC, please use the term “agency,” rather than “commission” or “department.”
The agency is governed by the Virginia ABC Board made up of three commissioners. However, the agency as a whole is not designated by the term “ABC Board,” which refers only to the executive body.
