Barrel Picks

Virginia ABC partners with spirits distillers and brands in the selection and sale of various barrel picks items. These products are one-of-a-kind, selected by a team trained in identifying product attributes to select the finest barrels available for our customers.

Most barrel pick items are bottled single cask, which means that no two barrels of the same product taste exactly alike. Variations in flavor can be the result of the wood and char of barrels, rick house location or weather conditions as the products age. These variations provide an endless variety of flavors and add to the adventure of sampling more than one barrel of each product as they become available. Limited quantities are available of each barrel.

Distribution of barrel pick products to stores occurs on a rolling basis. The lists below are updated throughout the month with a list of available products. To make these Virginia-exclusive products available to as many customers as possible, these products are restricted to in-store purchase only. Many spirits distillers and brands offer individual customers the opportunity to select private barrels. Once selected and ordered, these barrels are sent to Virginia ABC for distribution to the customer’s selected Virginia ABC store for purchase. When these barrels arrive in-store, inventory may show on the Virginia ABC website. This inventory is not available for general purchase and is reserved for purchase by the customer(s) who selected this private barrel in coordination with the distillery.
