Virginia ABC seeks to partner, collaborate and build capacity with those who share in promoting our message of safety and responsibility. Through the Education and Prevention section, Virginia ABC offers Alcohol Education and Prevention Grants, as well as minigrants through YADAPP.
Alcohol Education and Prevention Grants
Alcohol Education and Prevention Grants provide funding to organizations that are working to prevent underage and high-risk drinking. Community coalitions, law enforcement, nonprofits, schools, colleges and universities, faith-based organizations and prevention-related groups are encouraged to learn more by completing the Grant Application Training online course.
Grant applicants must address one or more of the following priorities: underage drinking prevention, social providing/social hosting prevention, or high-risk drinking prevention. The online training course will provide applicants with a structure to assess the needs of the community, identify their unique local issues, and explore what prevention best practices may work best for the selected objectives and audiences.
Grantees are encouraged to build partnerships and embrace collaboration to achieve a meaningful, and measurable, long-lasting impact. Members of the EPS team stay in contact throughout the grant cycle to provide support and encourage success.
STEP 1: Complete Online Training
For your grant application to be considered, the first step is to complete the mandatory online training. This training is required for all applicants including previous applicants and previous grantees.
STEP 2: Submit an Application Following completion of the mandatory Grant Applicant Pre-Training, you may submit the Alcohol Education and Prevention Application. The application period will be open January 1 through March 1, 2021.
