Reservoir Distillery's wheat whiskey is the softest of their three expressions. Wheat produces a buttery, savory and smooth whiskey, and is an excellent introductory whiskey for those not experienced in brown spirits. Some refer to it as a beginner bourbon. If you love the smoothness of a wheated bourbon you will fall in love with this 100 percent wheat mash bill. The tasting profile offers a velvet texture and is sweet but not cloying (given the lack of corn). Perfumed notes of rose petals emerge. The finish evokes notes of orange peels and is herbaceous and honeyed with a long-lasting mouthfeel. Try it neat to establish a baseline, then add a touch of water or a single ice cube to temper the proof.
