Maker's Mark double distills its whiskey once in an all-copper column still to produce low wine and again in a copper pot still to produce high wine. This added step removes impurities and produces a more refined sipping whiskey. The taste is sweet with a balance of oak, vanilla and fruity essences. The finish is smooth and creamy with a pleasant soft spice and a clean finish. Sweet oak, vanilla, bright fruit and wheat prevail on the nose.
