In a mixing glass or directly in a rocks glass, add brown sugar syrup, bitters, and bourbon. Add ice and stir for 10–15 seconds. Strain (if mixed separately) over a large ice cube. Express an orange peel over the drink and drop it in. Add a tiny pinch of smoked salt or brown sugar for a “trash panda rummaged in the woods” vibe.
