Corkscrews were patented in the 1790s. Surprisingly, it took about 200 years for someone to invent a Corkscrew cocktail, such as this peach-flavored gem.

Preparation

In a mixing glass half-filled with ice, stir the rum, peach-flavored brandy and vermouth. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with lime or lemon slice.

As orange flavor defines the Screwdriver cocktail, peach flavor defines the Corkscrew. Any type of peach-flavored spirit can be substituted for the peach-flavored brandy, whether peach liqueur or a peach-flavored rum, schnapps or vodka.
