Wedding Venue

The Perfect Backdrop for Spring Celebration

It’s spring at last and time to celebrate! Warmer weather, longer days and Virginia’s outdoor beauty provide the perfect backdrop for wedding season and all the gatherings that we love to toast. Virginia distilleries are creating more than just delicious spirits for friends and families to enjoy at these celebrations. From the Blue Ridge to the seashore, a number of distilleries are opening their doors for everything from weddings, showers, brunches and receptions to graduation and retirement parties.

Distilleries have joined vineyards and the commonwealth’s abundant historic landmarks and homes in the blend of options for event space.

Tucked in the heart of Virginia’s Blue Ridge mountains, just a short drive south of Charlottesville, the distillery has hosted suppers and even small wedding receptions, in addition to corporate events in their indoor whiskey loft as well as gatherings in its intimate outdoor space adjacent to distillery buildings.

On the coast, The Vanguard Brewpub and Distillery in Hampton has been the site for weddings, rehearsal dinners and receptions, as well as military retirement parties. With ample event space in the former armory and a restaurant kitchen to provide catering, Randy Thomas, The Vanguard’s owner, says concerts are also held there weekly. “The events help us a lot. It gives us the ability to increase the number of people coming to our brewpub and distillery.”
