Underage Buyer Inspection Results

The Underage Buyer (UB) program is an ongoing effort by Virginia ABC to visit alcohol retailers throughout the state to verify that licensees are complying with the state age requirement (21) for alcohol. Virginia ABC makes information on the final outcome of UB program compliance checks available to the public. This is public information and is available in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

The following download indicates the date, time and address of a Virginia ABC Underage Buyer Compliance check and the licensee’s results of the check. Penalties for this violation include a license suspension, paying a civil penalty, or a combination of both sanctions. The clerk that sold the alcohol to the underage individual is also subject to criminal charges.
