The Manchester district of Richmond will now feature a retail outlet where residents and commuters can purchase distilled spirits, mixers and Virginia wine. On Tuesday, Jan. 25, the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) will open a new store in the City View Marketplace at 521 Hull Street.
Virginia ABC will host a grand opening for the store at the location on Monday, Jan. 31 at noon. The ceremony will include brief remarks from Virginia ABC’s CEO, a ribbon cutting, informal store tours and refreshments.
“We are excited to not only help expand the retail community of Richmond, but we are also proud to offer an immediate retail option to our customers in the historic Manchester community with the opening of our newest store in the City View Marketplace,” said Virginia ABC Chief Executive Officer Travis Hill. “This new store provides convenience both for residents and for commuters heading home from work locations downtown with its direct location on Hull Street.”
This will be the 13th ABC store in Richmond and the first in the renovated Manchester district.
The new store measures 3,381 square feet. The store’s product selection spans over 1,400 items, including 239 bourbons, 231 vodkas, 143 cordials, 143 rums, 128 tequilas and 103 brandies.
The store employs three lead sales associates, three sales associates, one assistant store manager and one store manager who are eager to help customers find products they are looking for and discover new ones. Store hours are currently noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Customers are encouraged to visit Virginia ABC’s website at www.abc.virginia.gov to search for stores, determine the availability of products at any retail location and order spirits online for in-store or curbside pickup, or home delivery in select areas.
The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) is a major source of revenue for the commonwealth, contributing more than $2.6 billion to the general fund in the last five years.
