The name Hoodoo pays homage the black magic and mysticism brought to the Southern United States by immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean. Elements of the Hoodoo tradition are deeply embedded in Southern culture, especially blues music. Hoodoo Chickory Liqueur is made using Cathead Vodka, pure Louisiana cane sugar and pure roasted chicory root. It is aged in used bourbon barrels for 61 days--and put into barrels under a full moon. With a dry, nutty taste, Hoodoo Chickory Liqueur is very mixable: Mix it in coffee-based cocktails (for a taste of classic chickory-and-coffee blend), with calvados or apple liqueur, or with rye whiskey--but it also goes with brandy, cognac and rum.
