Virginia ABC provides the VAL system as a service to the public. By proceeding, you acknowledge and accept that VAL is a publicly searchable database which will display information provided by consumers. While Virginia ABC attempts to maintain information that is accurate and timely, Virginia ABC neither warrants nor makes representations as to the functionality or condition of this system, its suitability for use, freedom from interruptions or from computer virus, or non-infringement of proprietary rights.

Virginia ABC is neither responsible nor liable for any viruses or other contamination of your system nor for any delays, inaccuracies, errors or omissions arising out of your use of VAL. VAL and all information contained in this system are distributed and transmitted "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation, warranties of title or implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Virginia ABC is not responsible for any special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages that may arise from the use of, or the inability to use VAL.

In addition to the preceding terms and conditions Virginia ABC, its officers, employees, agents or representatives shall not be liable for any damages of any kind arising from your use of the online payment service. Nothing contained in VAL constitutes or is intended to constitute legal advice by Virginia ABC or any of its agencies, officers, employees, agents, or representatives.

Pursuant to Chapter 38 of Title 2.2 of the Code of Virginia, it is the policy of the Commonwealth of Virginia that personal/tax information about citizens/applicants and/or their business will be collected only to the extent necessary to provide the service/benefit desired; that only appropriate information will be collected; and that the citizen/applicant shall understand the reason the information is collected and be able to examine his/her personal/business record maintained by Virginia ABC.

Electronic Communication Automatic Opt-In Disclosure

Thanks for doing business digitally with us. Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (VA ABC) may be required to send you notices and other correspondence about the status of your application and/or license as well as other applicable information and updates (“Communications”). VA ABC will only send these Communications via notices on VAL or via the email you submitted when you set up your account. By creating this account, you consent to receive all Communications through these electronic means and acknowledge and demonstrate that you are capable of receiving and accessing Communications via these electronic methods.

Privacy Policy

Social security numbers, dates of birth, and federal and state tax identification numbers are collected for identification purposes.  Virginia ABC considers all personal/tax information collected as confidential information and will not provide information to any entity except as authorized by the Code of Virginia §58.1-3 or §2.2-3700 through §2.2-3714.

Applicable for Banquet Related Applications

Date of birth and federal and state tax identification numbers are collected for proof of identity. The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) considers all personal/tax information collected as confidential information and will not provide information to any entity except as authorized by the Code of Virginia §58.1-3 or §2.2-3700 through §2.2-3714. In the event a refund is requested, a social security number will be required.

Legal Communications

Communications to Virginia ABC made through e-mail and messaging systems shall in no way be deemed to constitute legal notice to Virginia ABC or any of its agencies, officers, employees, agents, or representatives, with respect to any existing or potential claim or cause of action against Virginia ABC or any of its agencies, officers, employees, agents, or representatives, where notice to Virginia ABC is required by any federal, state or local laws, rules, or regulations.
