Virginia ABC to Celebrate Opening of Newest Store in Norfolk

Customers in Norfolk have a new, convenient option to purchase spirits and Virginia wines with the opening of the latest Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) retail outlet at The Shops at Railyard. Virginia ABC officials will host a grand opening ceremony at 1225 W. 25th St. at 10 a.m. Monday, April 15.

This 4,500-square-foot store offers more than 1,600 different products. It is the tenth store in the city of Norfolk and the 402nd Virginia ABC store. The public is invited to the ceremony, which will include brief remarks, a ribbon cutting, photos and informal store tours.

“Our teammates look forward to serving customers in the Lambert’s Point neighborhood at this new location,” said Tom Kirby, Virginia ABC’s interim CEO. “Revenues generated from new stores like this one help make Virginia the best place to live, work and raise a family. Virginia ABC has returned more than $2.9 billion to the commonwealth in the last five years to fund essential services including education, public safety, transportation and infrastructure.”

Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. The store employs a store manager, an assistant store, two lead sales associates and one sales associate.

Customers are encouraged to visit Virginia ABC’s website at http://www.abc.virginia.gov to search for stores, determine the availability of products at any retail location and order spirits online for in-store or curbside pickup, or home delivery in select areas.
