VAL System Onboarding

VAL System Notification

For the optimal experience when using the VAL system, we recommend Google Chrome. Microsoft Edge is also supported. Please know that the VAL system is not compatible with Safari or mobile devices. New Licensees

If you are a new licensee with Virginia ABC, you can begin using the system as soon as you create an account.

Begin the account setup process by clicking on "Sign Up" at VAL Login.

Existing Licensees

Note: Onboarding will continue for existing licensees with renewal periods for June 2023.

The PIN letter will provide you with instructions on logging in and connecting your licenses to your account. 

  1. If you have an ABC account: Log in using your existing login for Virginia ABC at VAL Login.
  2. If you don’t have an ABC account: Create one by clicking on "Sign Up" at VAL Login.
  3. Once you have successfully logged in, follow the instructions in the pin letter to sync your existing licenses to your VAL account

What If I Don't Have a Virginia ABC Login?

If you don't already have a Virginia ABC login, you can easily create one by clicking on the "Sign Up" link at the bottom of the VAL access page.

What If I Haven’t Received a PIN Letter?

PIN letters will be distributed via a phased approach and will align closely with your renewal month. This process will begin for the May 2022 renewal period. 

Note: PIN letters are only needed for existing licenses. If you are new to Virginia ABC, you can begin using the VAL system simply by setting up a Virginia ABC account. Please visit our VAL Training page for video and downloadable tutorials about  logging in to the VAL system, setting up an account and submitting your license application.
