A new Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) store has opened in the growing Alexandria West neighborhood in Northern Virginia. The store, located at 4604 Kenmore Ave., joins an already robust mix of restaurants, shops, parks and residential areas in the community which was named one of the city’s best to live in by Niche, an online community research and assessment program. The retail outlet is Alexandria’s seventh ABC store. A grand opening celebration will be held at the store at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
“We are excited to be a part of the vibrant Alexandria West retail community that continues to grow,” said Virginia ABC Chief Executive Officer Travis Hill. “This new store caters to locals and the many visitors who come to Alexandria for business and pleasure.”
The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will include brief remarks from Hill, a ribbon cutting, light refreshments and informal store tours. The first 25 customers will receive a complimentary gift.
The new store measures 5,342 square feet, more than 2,100 square feet larger than the average ABC store. The store’s product selection spans a variety of more than 1,200 items, including 219 vodkas, 201 bourbons, 112 tequilas, 124 rums, 117 cordials and 74 brandies.
The store employs one manager, one assistant manager, one lead sales associate and three sales associates who are all eager to help customers find what they are looking for and discover new products. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Virginia ABC now has 387 stores across the commonwealth. Currently, 92% of Virginians live within 10 minutes of an ABC store.
Customers are encouraged to visit Virginia ABC’s website at www.abc.virginia.gov to search for stores, determine the availability of products at any retail location and order spirits online to pick up at a local store.
