A new Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) store in Norfolk makes it easier for downtown customers to shop for spirits and Virginia wine. The retail outlet, located at 143-B Granby Street, is Norfolk’s ninth ABC store. A grand opening celebration will be held at the store at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13.
“Downtown Norfolk has a vibrant, walkable retail community that continues to grow,” said Virginia ABC Chief Executive Officer Travis Hill. “This new store caters to locals and the many visitors who come to downtown Norfolk for business and pleasure.”
The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will include brief remarks from Hill, a ribbon cutting, light refreshments and informal store tours. The first 25 customers will receive a complimentary gift.
The new store measures 1,000 square feet. The store’s product selection spans a variety of more than 1,000 items, including 270 vodkas, 196 bourbons, 97 tequilas, 94 rums, 76 cordials and 70 brandies.
The store employs one sales associate, two lead sales associates and one store manager who are eager to help customers find what they are looking for and discover new products. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
