Virginia ABC to Celebrate Opening of New Store in Springfield

Residents near Fort Belvoir in Fairfax County have a new retail outlet for purchasing spirits and Virginia wine. The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) recently opened a store in Springfield at 8070 Rolling Road in the Saratoga Shopping Center. A grand opening celebration will be held at the store at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

“This new store is conveniently located next to Giant Food and easily accessible from Fairfax County Parkway,” said Virginia ABC Chief Executive Officer Travis Hill. “We are committed to providing excellent customer service and strategically chose this location to better serve Fairfax County’s growing population.”

The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will include brief remarks from Hill, a ribbon cutting, light refreshments and informal store tours. The first 25 customers will receive a complimentary gift.

This is the 43rd ABC store in Fairfax County. The new store measures 4,400 square feet, more than 1,200 square feet larger than the average ABC store. The store’s product selection spans a variety of nearly 1,500 items, including 256 vodkas, 245 bourbons, 142 rums, 141 cordials, 139 tequilas and 122 scotches.

The store employs three lead sales associates, one assistant store manager and a store manager who are eager to help customers find what they are looking for and discover new products. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Virginia ABC currently has 385 stores across the commonwealth. Currently, 92% of Virginians live within 10 minutes of an ABC store.
