Residents in Norfolk have a new retail outlet for purchasing spirits and Virginia wine. The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) recently opened a store at 1595 International Boulevard, Suite 101 in the Norview Center Shopping Center near the Norfolk International Airport. A grand opening celebration will be held at the store at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 25.
“We strategically chose the International Boulevard location to meet market demands and better serve the growing population in Norfolk,” said Virginia ABC Chief Executive Officer Travis Hill. “Customers now have eight locations in Norfolk to responsibly enjoy the thousands of excellent products we offer in stores and online.”
The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will include brief remarks from Hill, a ribbon cutting, light refreshments and informal store tours. The first 25 customers will receive a complimentary gift.
The new store measures 5,600 square feet, more than 2,400 square feet larger than the average ABC store. The store’s product selection spans a variety of more than 1,300 items, including 289 vodkas, 208 bourbons, 152 rums, 139 cordials, 123 tequilas and 101 brandies.
The store employs six sales associates, two lead sales associates and a store manager who are eager to help customers find what they are looking for and discover new products. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Virginia ABC currently has 384 stores across the commonwealth. Currently, 92% of Virginians live within 10 minutes of an ABC store.
