Virginia ABC Announces Store Holiday Hours

The upcoming holidays in December and January will affect operating hours at Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) stores.

On Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24, all stores will close at 6 p.m. Some Virginia ABC stores will open an hour earlier that day to ensure customers have plenty of time to shop for distilled spirits, Virginia-made wines and mixers for holiday celebrations. Customers should contact their local store for specific hours. Contact information is available on the Virginia ABC website at https://www.abc.virginia.gov/stores.

On Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec. 25, all stores will be closed.

On New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31, stores will be open normal operating hours. Those hours vary per location.

On New Year’s Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1, stores will open at their normal time and all stores will close at 6 p.m.

A searchable list of Virginia ABC’s 374 stores—including products available at each location—can be found on Virginia ABC’s website at www.abc.virginia.gov.

Through Dec. 31, hours of operation for the holiday kiosks at the Tysons Corner Center and the Dulles Town Center in Northern Virginia, Chesterfield Towne Center in Richmond, Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach and the temporary storefront in Short Pump Town Center in Richmond are the same as mall holiday hours. On Sundays, these locations will open after noon, when liquor is legally permitted to be sold in Virginia.

Virginia ABC encourages customers to celebrate all the year-end holidays responsibly and never drink and drive.
