To better serve the residents and visitors to Suffolk, the largest city by area in the commonwealth, the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) has opened its fifth store. A grand opening of the new store, located at 1457 N. Main Street in the Suffolk Shopping Center, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3.
Citizens are invited to join Virginia ABC Commissioner Judy Napier, store staff and special guests at the event, which will include remarks, a ribbon cutting, informational store tours and refreshments. The first 25 customers will receive a complimentary gift.
“This is Virginia ABC’s 367th store. The agency’s continued retail expansion shows its commitment to excellent customer service,” Napier said. “We are excited to provide more opportunities for patrons to responsibly enjoy the thousands of products offered in stores and online.”
The new Suffolk store measures 1,500 square feet and will include a selection of approximately 580 items including 140 vodkas, 80 bourbon items, 80 brandy items, 55 gin items, 24 tequila items and more. The store manager may alter the store’s product assortment to accommodate local preferences.
The store will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday with six employees to help customers find exactly what they are looking for.
