Virginia ABC’s Forest Store to Close for Renovation

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) store located in the Graves Mill Center at 18013 Forest Road in Forest will close at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, for a remodeling project that will include new floors and fixtures for the 2,782-square-foot retail space.

The renovation requires the store to close for several weeks, but it will reopen at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 6.

“This renovation project will improve the shopping experience,” said Virginia ABC Director of Retail Operations Wilson Jones. “We are committed to providing retail environments that make shopping for spirits effortless and enjoyable.”

While the Forest location is closed, customers can shop at nearby Virginia ABC stores located in Forest at The Shoppes at Parsons Place, 14521 Forest Road, or in Lynchburg at 20401 Timberlake Road and at Boonsboro Shopping Center, 4925 Boonsboro Road.

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is a major source of revenue for the commonwealth, contributing more than $1.9 billion to the general fund in the last five years. The agency currently operates 366 state stores. Its Bureau of Law Enforcement oversees nearly 18,000 ABC licensed establishments while the Hearings and Appeals Division considers more than 700 cases each year. The agency also provides alcohol education and prevention programs for people of all ages. Now marking its 83rd year, ABC remains committed to progress and innovation in carrying out its control, service and revenue mission.
