Virginia ABC Continues Expansion Across Commonwealth with Opening of 360th Store in Virginia Beach

Who:  The public is invited to the grand opening of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s (ABC) 360th store. Virginia Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security Brian Moran and Virginia ABC Chairman Jeffrey Painter will speak at the event.

When:  Thursday, August 4, at 11 a.m.

Where:  1340 North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23454

What:  Virginia ABC will celebrate reaching its 360th store milestone with a special event that includes brief remarks, a ribbon and cake cutting, photos and informal store tours. The first 100 customers will receive a free gift and all guests are invited to enjoy refreshments.

Virginia ABC’s newest store, the 15th location in the city of Virginia Beach, measures 3,000 square feet and carries nearly 1,750 spirits, mixers and Virginia wines. The retail outlet, which has five employees to assist customers with all their shopping needs, is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Why:  Since the beginning of Governor Terry McAuliffe’s administration Virginia ABC has opened 19 new stores —eight in 2014, six in 2015 and five this year—including four premier locations that feature an enhanced layout and unique design. Virginia ABC plans to open additional stores based on market research, customer demand and available locations.

The continued expansion shows Virginia ABC’s commitment to excellent customer service by providing more opportunities for patrons to responsibly enjoy the thousands of products offered in stores and online.
