This Memorial Day weekend, the public is invited to meet, honor and vote for local military hero Jason Redman, one of five national finalists for Crown Royal’s ‘Your Hero’s Name Here’ 400 at the Brickyard campaign. Redman, a retired Navy SEAL from Chesapeake, was injured during a 2007 tour in Iraq and has since received numerous honors including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal with Valor, Defense Meritorious Service Medal and many others. Following his recovery, he founded the nonprofit Combat Wounded Coalition and SOF Spoken, a company that shares his message of leadership, teamwork and overcoming adversity. Virginia ABC Special Agent in Charge of the Chesapeake Regional Office Leon Coleman and Crown Royal officials will attend.

When:    Friday, May 27, from 3-5 p.m.

Where:    Virginia ABC store at Hilltop North Shopping Center, 1612 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach

At the event, customers will have an opportunity to sample free tastings of Crown Royal’s high-end distilled spirits paired with hors d’oeuvres and cast a vote for Redman. Of the five national finalists, the hero who receives the most votes by June 9 will have naming rights to the 2016 Crown Royal Your Hero’s Name Here 400 at the Brickyard, Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

To vote for Redman to win the national naming rights campaign and to view an inspiring video that tells his story, go to http://yourherosnamehere.nascar.com. Supporters may vote for Redman once each day until voting closes on June 9.

Virginia ABC supports Crown Royal’s ‘Your Hero’s Name Here’ campaign to honor our country’s military heroes and encourages Virginians to vote for one of their own, Jason Redman.
