The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) will hold a grand opening ceremony for its newest store located in University Mall at 10685 Braddock Road, Fairfax on Jan. 13 at 11 a.m.
Virginia ABC Commissioner Judy Napier and special guests will attend the celebration, which will include brief remarks, a ribbon cutting, photos and informal store tours followed by refreshments. The grand opening ceremony is open to the public, and the first 25 customers will receive a free (non-alcoholic) gift.
“Virginia ABC is excited to expand the opportunity for customers to responsibly enjoy the thousands of excellent products we offer in stores and online,” said Commissioner Napier.
The 3,050 square-foot store carries more than 1,300 items, which are determined by the store manager based on local preferences. The retail outlet employs six people: one manager and five sales associates. Store hours are 10 a.m.−9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1−6 p.m. Sunday.
The nearest Virginia ABC stores are located in the Twinbrooke Centre at 9575 Braddock Road and Courthouse Plaza Shopping Center at 10308 Willard Way, both in Fairfax, and in the Burke Centre Shopping Center at 5739 Burke Centre Parkway in Burke.
“We are committed to excellent customer service and our proud legacy of a 98 percent compliance rate for not selling to underage buyers,” said Napier.
