For customer convenience, the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) store located in the Towne Square Shops at 5050-C Rutgers Street in the city of Roanoke is expanding its operating times by one hour on Friday and Saturday nights.
The location will now be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
“Customers approached ABC and asked that the store stay open later on weekend nights,” said Virginia ABC Director of Retail Operations Wilson Jones. “We are pleased to be able to accommodate this request.”
Virginia ABC has three other stores in the city of Roanoke and three in Roanoke County. The Williamson Road location is also open until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is a major source of revenue for the commonwealth, contributing more than $1.8 billion to the general fund in the last five years. The agency currently operates 353 state stores.
