For customer convenience, the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) store located at 5814 Main St. in Mount Jackson is expanding its operating times by one hour on Friday and Saturday nights.
The location will now be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
“Customers approached ABC and asked that the store stay open later on weekend nights,” said Virginia ABC Director of Retail Operations Wilson Jones. “We are pleased to be able to accommodate this request.”
Virginia ABC has two other stores in Shenandoah County. The Strasburg and Woodstock stores are open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is a major source of revenue for the commonwealth, contributing more than $1.8 billion to the general fund in the last five years.
