Danville ABC Store Relocation Offers Expanded Floor Space and Product Selection

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) store located at 3308 Riverside Drive in Danville is relocating to a new space in Riverside Center. The current store will close on Saturday, June 6, at 9 p.m. The new 3282 Riverside Drive location is scheduled to open on Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m.

By moving to the new site within the same shopping center, Virginia ABC is creating a more inviting atmosphere for patrons. The floor plan will be more open than the current layout and the lighting has been upgraded to create a brighter environment.

The expanded sales floor will not only enhance each customer's shopping experience, comfort and safety, but it will also provide a larger variety of products. The new store will carry 1,281 items, 44 more than the previous location. Just in time for Father’s Day, the new selection includes premium scotch, tequila and bourbon brands not previously available in the store.

The enhancements Virginia ABC is making to the Danville store as part of the relocation will make it the most modernized of the four stores located within city limits. The store’s operating hours will remain the same: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

During the week-long closure, nearby Virginia ABC stores in Danville located at 221 Nor-Dan Drive, 639 West Main St. and 235 N. Union St. are open for business.

Customers may use Virginia ABC’s newly enhanced website (www.abc.virginia.gov) to search for ABC stores, determine the availability of products at any of the 351 retail locations and order spirits online for delivery to a local store.
