Portsmouth ABC Store Closes Briefly for Remodeling

Portsmouth ABC Store Closes Briefly for Remodeling

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) store located at 5748 Churchland Blvd., Portsmouth, will close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, for remodeling. The store plans to reopen at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 24.

This Portsmouth location will have a new floor installed during the brief closure. For customer convenience, the following nearby locations will be open during regular hours:

  • College Parkway Crossing at Harbour View, 6550 Hampton Roads Parkway, Suite 111, Suffolk;
  • Chesapeake Center Shopping Center, 4300 Portsmouth Blvd., Suite 240, Chesapeake; and
  • 812 Airline Blvd., Portsmouth.

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) is a major source of revenue for the commonwealth, contributing more than $1.8 billion to the general fund in the last five years. The agency currently operates 350 state stores.
