All 350 Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, but will reopen the following day with Black Friday specials. Stores will be open normal hours the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
On Friday, Nov. 28, only, all stores will offer 10 percent off any purchase totaling $50 or more (pretax). The discount applies to regular sales and does not apply to licensee purchases, lottery items and gift cards.
In addition, as part of the agency’s 80th anniversary celebration, Virginia ABC will offer a one-day opportunity to register for a special gift card drawing. Eighty lucky winners will be selected in a drawing from those registered on Black Friday, and each will receive an $80 gift card redeemable at any Virginia ABC store statewide. A purchase is not required to register for the gift card drawing.
For customer convenience, some Virginia ABC stores will have extended hours—opening early and closing later—on Black Friday, but the hours will vary per store. Customers may contact each store directly to inquire about operating hours on Nov. 28.
