  • ABC store opens in North Chesterfield
  • Grand opening is Monday, March 24

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) announces the opening of its new Chesterfield County store located at 201 Stonebridge Plaza Ave. in the Stonebridge Shopping Center.

A grand opening event is planned for 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 24. ABC Commissioners and special guests will attend this ribbon cutting ceremony before the store opens to the public at 10 a.m.

“ABC strategically chose the Stonebridge Shopping Center to meet market demands and better serve the growing population in North Chesterfield,” said Wilson Jones, director of retail operations

The Stonebridge store, situated in the former Cloverleaf Mall location, is the 8th store in Chesterfield County. The nearest ABC store is located in the City of Richmond at 7036 Forest Hill Ave.

The store measures 3,600 square feet, carries approximately 1,320 items and will employ seven people. Store hours will be 10 a.m.− 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1− 6 p.m. Sunday.

“We're eager to welcome customers, answer their questions and fulfill special requests,” said Jones. “As we get to know customers in this area we will adjust the store’s product mix to accommodate their tastes.”

In celebration of ABC’s 80th anniversary year, the first 80 customers Monday will receive a free non-alcoholic gift.

ABC has opened 80 stores in the last 10 years and plans to open 20 more in the next three years. Currently 98 percent of Virginia’s population resides within 10 minutes of an ABC store.
