Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) special agents and Virginia Beach Police executed a search warrant at a Virginia Beach restaurant last Sunday following a two-month investigation into the illegal sale of alcohol.
Beach Caribbean, a restaurant located at 152 S. Plaza Trail, Virginia Beach, had allegedly been selling liquor by the drink without a license to sell alcohol.
The search warrant resulted in 55 charges and the seizure of $1,560.79 in cash along with 39 grams of suspected marijuana and ten bottles of suspected liquor.
ABC special agents issued the following charges: one count possession of marijuana; one count possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; five counts of maintaining a common nuisance (narcotics code); 10 counts of maintaining a common nuisance (alcohol code); four counts of aid and abet in the illegal sale of alcohol; and five counts of possessing alcohol on the premises of an unlicensed restaurant.
In addition, Virginia Beach Police issued 18 summonses for frequenting a disorderly house; one count possession of marijuana; one count open container; one count drunk in public; one weapons charge and seven arrests for outstanding warrants.
