PLEASE NOTE: Effective Jan. 24, all Virginia ABC stores will open daily at noon to allow for COVID-19-related staffing adjustments. This change in hours enables Virginia ABC’s limited workforce to better serve its customers. Store closing times remain the same.

ABC Stores Closed on Thanksgiving Day

Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) stores will be closed Thanksgiving Day.

Most of Virginia ABC’s 339 retail stores will open at 9 a.m. the following day with Black Friday specials. Stores will offer a 25 to 50 percent reduction (or more) on selected items as well as 10 percent off any purchase totaling $50 or more. Early morning specials will remain in effect Nov. 23 until 3 p.m.

Five stores in Williamsburg, Richmond and Northern Virginia will open at 7 a.m. which include Willow Lawn, Richmond; Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg; Sully Plaza, Chantilly; and two Fairfax stores in Fairfax Court and Fair Lakes Shopping Centers.

“ABC encourages Virginians to drink responsibly. As the holiday season approaches, we should be especially mindful of this,” ABC Chairman J. Neal Insley said.
