ABC Bureau of Law Enforcement Graduates Five Special Agents From Academy
The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Bureau of Law Enforcement is pleased to announce the addition of 10 new special agents, five of which are graduating from the Central Virginia Criminal Justice Academy. The graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 28 at 6 p.m. at the downtown Lynchburg Holiday Inn, 601 Main St.
The following agents will be graduating and assigned to the following ABC Regional Offices: Stephan Brown, Chesapeake; Denise Klugh, Richmond South; Allison C. Meconi, Alexandria; Mark Pruitt, Alexandria and Scott Smith, Alexandria.
The following have previously fulfilled the academy requirements, but are new special agents at ABC and will be assigned to the following ABC Regional Offices: Andrew Fridley, Alexandria; Isaac Hawkins, Richmond North; Keith Salo, Alexandria and David Wood, Hampton.
The increase in sworn agents enables the Bureau to enforce the alcohol laws and provide educational opportunities for the agency's retail licensees. The new agents bring the number of sworn ABC special agents to 95, working statewide out of nine Regional Offices.
The ABC Bureau of Law Enforcement is committed to providing effective public safety by enforcing the laws of the Commonwealth. Prevention of youth access to alcohol is a primary component of the agency mission.
