ABC To Celebrate Grand Opening of Second Culpeper Store

Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board members and officials will celebrate the grand opening of its second Culpeper ABC store with a public ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, June 29 at 11 a.m. The store, located at 15149 Montanus Drive, officially opened for business on Thursday, May 17 at 10 a.m.

With 2,705 square feet of retail space, this Centre at Culpeper Shopping Center store location offers 928 items including liquors cordials and specialty items for its customers. Additional products are available from the ABC store price list and special order catalog.

ABC's Real Estate Committee, comprised of representatives from Wholesale/Retail, Finance and Property Management, makes crucial decisions about the agency's growth based on Market Location Strategy and Rural Location Strategy. One strategy addresses new store market potential and the other, service. ABC currently operates 326 stores statewide.

As a major source of revenue for Virginia, ABC has contributed over a billion dollars to the Commonwealth in the last five years. Fiscal Year 2006 marked an eighth record-breaking year for ABC, resulting in over $280 million in contributions to the Commonwealth's General Fund, state agencies and to localities for education, police, fire, public works and other projects.

The store is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
