College Students Discuss Underage and High-Risk Drinking at 21st Annual College Conference

Underage and high-risk drinking among college students presents an enormous public safety issue. College student participants at the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) 2006 College Conference, featuring appearances by MTV reality personality Ruthie Alcaide, Comedian Rene Hicks and Norfolk State Counselor Lori Hobson, will address this issue November 3-4 at Virginia Beach.

The 21st Annual College Conference, hosted by ABC, is a weekend where local, state and national college students collaborate with administrators, faculty members, community leaders and local law enforcement officers/agents to discuss prevention strategies regarding underage and high-risk drinking on college campuses.

Conference participants will discuss what can be done immediately to improve situations on their respective campuses reflecting the ABC 2006 College Conference theme, "Putting It All Together: Piece by Piece."

Who:

A total of 233 college students representing 27 local, state and national colleges.

When:

Friday, Nov. 3, 8:00 a.m.-11 p.m. to Saturday, Nov. 4, 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
