Newly Opened ABC Store in Charlottesville

The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) opened a new store in Charlottesville on June 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. The ABC store is located in the Kroger Shopping Center, 1902 Emmet Street. The store will operate between the hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Customers will be able to browse through 5,626 square feet of retail space offering liquors, cordials and specialty items. The store will carry approximately 1,519 items. Additional products are available through the ABC Store Price List and Special Order Catalog.

ABC currently operates 309 state stores. Fiscal Year 2005 marked a seventh record-breaking year for Virginia ABC that has resulted in a total of over $268 million in contributions to the Commonwealth’s General Fund, state agencies and localities for education, police, fire, public works and other projects. ABC has contributed one billion dollars to the Commonwealth in the last five years.
