Zero Tolerance Policy In Effect for the Foxfield Race

A joint effort by the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), the Virginia State Police and the Albemarle County Police Department will result in increased security and a zero tolerance policy this year at the April 29 Foxfield Race in Charlottesville. Disorderly and dangerous conduct will not be tolerated and all violations of the law will result in enforcement action.

The law enforcement agencies are working with Foxfield owners to create a safe environment for all patrons. Police will observe patrons upon arrival and will check personal vehicles, limousines and chartered buses for intoxicated individuals and for underage persons illegally carrying/possessing alcohol in vehicles. Those in violation of the law will not gain admittance to the event. Patrons who gain admittance will continue to be monitored under a zero tolerance policy for alcohol and other violations.

An enforcement partnership was formed because of rising concern about dangerous and disorderly conduct at previous races, and a commitment to improving public safety.
