Local Man Arrested for Impersonating an ABC Special Agent

Special agents with the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Bureau of Law Enforcement arrested Donald "Donnie" Ray Cash today for Impersonation of a Police Officer (State Law 18.2-174).

This arrest was made at the conclusion of an ongoing investigation involving a subject posing as an ABC special agent in area restaurants. ABC agents work in plain clothes and will always display their badges and state credentials when calling on owners of licensed establishments or undertaking any law enforcement action.

Cash, 29, resides in the 1000 block of Picking Road in Goodview, Va. He was released from jail on a secured bond of $1,000. Arraignment has been set for 10/26/09 in Roanoke County General District Court.
