ABC Advisory Council to Hold First Meeting for North Region
The first meeting of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Community Advisory Council for the North region will be held Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at ABC's Bureau of Law Enforcement (BLE) Alexandria Regional Office, 6308 Grovedale Drive.
The Advisory Council was established to provide additional insight, accountability and support to ABC through partnerships with public safety, educational and community organizations throughout the Commonwealth. At the first Community Advisory Council meeting held in Richmond, citizens suggested that ABC publicize the results of all administrative hearings conducted with ABC licensees and results of BLE underage buyer checks statewide. ABC implemented the suggestions and these items are now available on the agency Web site.
The Council is divided into four regions: North, South, East, and West. Heading the North region, Special Agent in Charge Phil Disharoon, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Scott Kehoe and Special Agent Pat MacMac serve as chairpersons and will lead the meeting with discussion topics such as new laws and regulations, reports on trouble establishments from ABC and the community, recent ABC decisions from the Hearings and Appeals Division and various community issues and concerns.
