Curtis Coleburn told the board members that the issue of Flavored Malt Beverages needs to be decided upon and discussed with the Attorney General's office. ABC will let the Attorney General's office know what avenue ABC intends to take. ABC needs to be on the record as their decision and why the decisions were reached if the Secretary and Governor's offices overrule ABC's decision. The first step is to meet with the suppliers, then discuss with Attorney General's office to formulate a plan and notify the Secretary of Public Safety of their intent.

Curtis said that Carla Collins from the Attorney General's office called and is requesting a meeting with the board to discuss conflict of interest laws. This will take place at the afternoon board meeting on August 30, 2004.

Curtis said that Choice Master LLC is requesting an exception to the advertising rules. Choice Master would like to place a kiosk in retailer that allows the customers to select wines, what wines are better served with what foods, and then give the customer a choice of alcoholic beverages that the retail establishment offers. The board voted unanimously to approve the kiosk if the kiosk did not display alcoholic beverages when the machine was not in use.

With no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
