MART - Managers' Alcohol Responsibility Training
MART participants will learn about Virginia laws and regulations including, checking IDs, employing minors, using advertising properly and other management related issues. This six-hour training program will give managers' an opportunity to clarify myths and get answers directly from ABC special agents.
MART classes are offered in June and October.

Some of the topics covered in MART include:
- Requirements for operating an on- or off-premise licensed business.
- Review of ABC laws and consequences.
- Methods for checking IDs correctly.
- Managing confrontational situations with customers.
- Review of sample alcohol policies.
- Compliance assistance available from ABC special agents.
No cost for training
There is no cost for MART, but you are strongly encouraged to register two weeks prior to the class to allow organizers time to order support materials. If you register and find that you cannot attend consider sending a replacement. If you must cancel, call ABC at (804) 213-4688. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time.
Space is limited
Classes fill quickly, so it is recommended that each business register no more than five people. If you are interested in training a large number of staff, contact your agent or regional ABC office. Additional classes may open based on demand and agent availability.
